Homestead Electrical Contracting is licensed to perform work throughout Illinois and beyond. As a union contractor and active member of leading industry organizations, we bring trusted partnerships, skilled labor, and a commitment to quality and safety on every project.
Where We Began
Every company starts somewhere.
For Homestead Electric, it started with Mike Ahern Sr. (pictured on the left), early in his career as a foreman—long before the company existed.
Even then, Mike believed the electrical industry could be built on something stronger than simply completing a job. He envisioned a company grounded in integrity, built on lasting relationships, and driven by pride in doing the work the right way.
That vision became reality in October of 1981, when Homestead Electrical Contracting officially began operating.
More than four decades later, the values that shaped Homestead in the beginning still guide how we work, collaborate, and build lasting partnerships today.
